Shavuot is the only Chag (festival) in the Torah for which no precise date is given – why? Why is it that the date of the giving of the Torah is seemingly shrouded in such mystery?
In addition, the Torah is compared to both fire (Yirmiyahu/Jeremiah 23:29) and water (Yishayahu/Isaiah 55:1). The question is, why?
What properties do fire and water have that lend them to being compared to the Torah, and what connection does this have to the festival of Shavuot?
