YOM KIPPUR: How their attitudes relate to the essence of our Teshuva

“Forgiveness liberates the soul; it removes fear. That’s why it’s such a powerful weapon.”

Nelson Mandela was able to forgive his tormentors, those who were responsible for the apartheid regime in South Africa, and who put him in jail for 27 years.

The leaders of Iran, meanwhile, seem to be unable to be so forgiving with the United States over something that happened over 60 years ago, destabilizing the entire world causing global rifts and conflict.
