
The Israel Defense Force’s moral and ethical code, or purity of arms, may have come under some scrutiny over the years, but as Col. Richard Kemp has said many times, the IDF does “more to safeguard the rights of civilians in the combat zones than any other army in the history of warfare”.
Rav Shlomo Goren has said that one of the sources for the IDF’s ethical code comes from this week’s Parasha – Parashat Shoftim.
