At our recent World Conference, our CEO Rav Doron Perez was interviewed by Arutz Sheva.
He was asked what the role for Religious Zionism should be today.
Here’s what he had to say:
“The challenge of today’s day and age is that still seven million Jews live outside of Israel. We’ve built a country, we’ve built an amazing medina (state) – six million Jews – but still, the majority live outside of Israel.
What is the message, the vision for Religious Zionism, for Diaspora Jewry in the 21st Century? I believe it’s time for כי מציון תצא תורה – we have such power in the Tzioni Dati (Religious Zionist) world. Every single national shlichut (mission) we’ve taken on, we’ve transformed – the army, education in so many different areas, hityashvut (settlement), the peripheral communities in Israel. Now it’s time for Diaspora Jewry.
We have 350 Religious Zionist shlichim and shlichot around the world; we should have 1,000. We simply aren’t able to answer the requests of hundreds of communities which need educators, and teachers, and rabbis on all different levels. That is the mesima (goal), that is the tafkid (role). כי מציון תצא תורה.”
