Rav Yosef Zvi Rimon is an internationally acclaimed “posek” of Halacha, author, educator, and lecturer. Individuals and communities from around the globe turn to him regarding complex questions in Halacha, the responses of which have been pivotal in helping shape the contemporary Jewish world.
Through his book series, Halacha MiMekora, Rav Rimon has become known worldwide for developing an innovative methodology for teaching Halacha, taking the reader from the sources to the practical application of Halacha in our modern reality within the framework of a user-friendly, pedagogical methodology.
Rav Rimon is Rosh Yeshiva of Lev Academic Center (JCT), as well as the community rabbi of Alon Shvut South.
For Rav Rimon, innovation in Torah and Chessed come hand in hand.
He is Founder and Chairman of Sulamot, which develops cutting-edge educational technologies, experiential Jewish programming, and innovative curricula for Judaic studies, taught in five languages in hundreds of schools around the world.
Rav Rimon is also Founder and Chairman of JobKatif (recently re-branded as La’Ofek), originally established to help the former residents of Gush Katif, and now develops an array of employment-based projects aimed at rehabilitating sidelined populations in Israel, including Ethiopian-Israelis, needy soldiers and discharged lone soldiers, and youth at risk.
In recognition of his outstanding achievements, Rav Rimon was awarded the Katz Prize in 2018 for the application of Halacha in modern society, the President’s Prize for Volunteerism in 2008, and the Moskowitz Prize for Zionism in 2014 for his revolutionary Chessed initiatives.
