This week, Israel remembered its fallen on Yom Hazikaron – Israel’s Memorial Day.
All over the country, the day was commemorated in hundreds of ceremonies remembering those who fell defending our state and our land to enable us to live.
One incredible ceremony took place on an ElAl flight from Tel Aviv to Bucharest. The flight had 350 passengers including 250 Romanians. One of the flight attendants, Noam Brill, decided just before 11:00am Israel time to hold a short Yom Hazikaron ceremony on the plane, including reading the Yizkor prayer and a minute’s silence. Even the Romanians stood in respect!
