Rabbi Gideon Shloush has been appointed as Executive Director of the Mizrachi movement in the United States – the Religious Zionists of America (RZA).
We are very excited for Rabbi Shloush to lead the national movement of Mizrachi in the US to make Religious Zionism as relevant as possible for American Jewry; bringing the Torah of Eretz Yisrael and Medinat Yisrael in a deeper and more profound way to communities across the country.
We also wish a big Mazaltov to the 3 members of the National Presidium of the RZA who are slated to serve following their annual convention after the Chagim: Mr Marty Oliner (New York), Rabbi Lenny Matanky (Chicago) and Dr Ernie Agatstein (Los Angeles). We have no doubt that they, along with other members of the board, will take the RZA from strength to strength.
Rabbi Shloush is a dynamic leader who has been an important part of the remarkable resurgence at Congregation Adereth El, located in the heart of New York City. Under his leadership the Synagogue membership has tripled, a magnificent Beit Midrash has been built and the Synagogue recently underwent a major restoration for just the third time in its 156 year history.
Rabbi Shloush received his MBA in 1996. In 2006 he was hired by RIETS to oversee the Rabbinic Internship and Training Program at Yeshiva University’s Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary. In this capacity he is responsible for guiding students with the transition from the world of the Yeshiva to become professionally trained leaders within the Jewish community. In April 2016 Rabbi Shloush was elected as the new President of the New York Board of Rabbis. Rabbi Shloush is an adjunct professor at Stern College where he teaches Tanach and Jewish Studies.
Rabbi Gideon and Bonnie Shloush are the proud parents of Yair, Micha’el, Ariella, Avigayil, Talia & Shmuel.
We wish Rabbi Shloush much hatzlacha in his new position to boost Religious Zionism in America and we look forward to working together להגדיל תורה וציון ולהאדירם!
