“Especially now when we are threatened by boycotts we should build in Mevasseret Adumim (E1). Anyone who wants to see strong settlement blocs, must do everything in their power to promote construction in the Land of Israel. Otherwise, all the talk about consensus and strengthening the settlement blocs remain only on paper “.
These things were said this morning by Deputy Foreign Minister Zeev Elkin in response to threats of U.S. Secretary of State Kerry.
Elkin: “The construction of the neighborhood is of strategic importance connecting Ma’aleh Adumim and Jerusalem. The time has come to stop talking and start building neighborhoods and homes in the settlement blocs. Without building the neighborhood, there is no future for Ma’aleh Adumim as a strong and prosperous city.”
Next week there will be a mass march with the participation of over 30 right-wing bodies from Ma’aleh Adumim to E1, in a call to ease the pressure on Israel from the nations of the world. Amongst the participants will be Knesset members, deputy ministers and ministers along with rabbis and other public figures.
