Anyone who has ever been in Hadassah Ein Karem Hospital in Jerusalem over a Shabbat has benefited from the kindness of Rabbi Yitzchak and Sima Peretz. The couple have volunteered to assist those who spent Shabbat in the hospital with their loved ones.

Sima prepared Shabbat meals for the guests, while her husband went around the hospital ensuring that those who wished to had challot and kiddush wine, including those who were unable to leave their ward to go to the dining room with the other patients.

The couple have been married for 27 years, but had not been blessed with children. Until this week when Sima gave birth to a daughter.

Both the Director and Rabbi of the hospital expressed how happy everyone connected with the hospital was when they heard the wonderful news, and the Rabbi, Rav Moshe Klein, added: “It is no coincidence that the birth took place in the week that we read about the merit of Avraham and Sarah – the merit of hospitality.”

The couple confirmed that they would continue their acts of kindness following the birth.
