The Israeli Baseball team are currently doing very well in the World Baseball Classic taking place currently in Tokyo, Japan.
Ranked 41st in the world, they are considered the underdogs of the tournament, earning them the nickname of the “Jamaican bobsled team of the WBC” by ESPN. Against the odds, they have beaten the Netherlands, as well as world number 4 Taipei and world number 3 Korea!
They also have a mascot called the Mensch on the Bench (seriously!):

Most amazing was when the team removes their caps at the start to sing the national anthem, they are all wearing matching blue kippot. Very moving!
Just as Hatikvah, the Israeli national anthem started @Israel_Baseball took off their hats & put on kippot. What a moment. #WBC2017 #chills pic.twitter.com/eqNKUHursa
