Roy Scher, a member of Bnei Akiva Cape Town, who made Aliyah in 1979, recently gave a TEDx talk in Eilat on nurturing young leadership. He invited ex-South Africans living in Eilat to his talk, which was also well attended by the general community.
The main heading of the event was “Human Potential & Innovation” therefore as C.E.O. of the Advanced Leadership Academy for International Skills Development, Roy was invited to deliver a talk.
Roy spoke with deep feeling when relating to his difficult school years, as well as growing up in Apartheid South Africa and witnessing people not fulfilling their potential. He went on to talk about the setbacks, challenges and changes in his life, which ultimately strengthened him to where he is today.
Mr. Scher is involved in a variety of community activities to uplift and care for those who are in need. He initiated meetings with members of the Israeli Knesset to help them better understand the plight of immigrants from underprivileged countries.
Whilst doing this Roy opened his own unique business that soon gained fame and recognition far and wide for his exceptional excellence in customer care. Since 2005, Roy turned his attention to Life Coaching. He then went on to create “STAR” ( Set Targets Achieve Results) an Empowerment Program for Teens at Risk.
Roy was called upon to do highly specialized coaching for victims of terror who suffer from P.T.S.D.
All this was leading up to where Roy finds himself today, to build an Academy for Gifted youngsters on a level of exceptional excellence.
Roy’s life’s message is one of unique and powerful inspirational upliftment on a level of par excellence with sincere heartfelt love and care for all people from all walks of life.
