72 years after the assassination of Avraham “Yair” Stern, the leader of the Lehi movement and its first commander, about 350 people including Lehi fighters, second, third and fourth generations of fighters, members of the Betar and Bnei Akiva youth movements, Members of Knesset and ministers, came on Sunday to take part in the national memorial service held at the Nachalat Yitzchak cemetery in Givatayim.
Among those present at the memorial service were Yair Stern , the son of Abraham and the Stern family, Limor Livnat, Minister of Culture and Sport, Ophir Akunis, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Yair Shamir, Minister of Agriculture, Interior Minister Gideon Sa’ar, MK Tzahi Hanegbi Chair of the Knesset Committee, Chief Rabbi David Lau, and IDF Chief Cantor Lt. Col. Shai Abramson.
The Lehi Museum also reported that more than 250 visitors visited the museum on Sunday morning.
