Bondi Mizrachi Synagogue in Sydney, Australia, welcome this week their new Rabbi to the community.

Rabbi Shua Solomon grew up in Perth, Australia. After school he went on MTA to Yeshivat Har Etzion and completed the hesder program. He served in the Nachal infantry brigade as a combat soldier and medic and was stationed on the Gaza border and in Chevron. He studied for a B.Ed at Herzog College and received semicha from Rav Zalman Nechemia Goldberg.

Rav Shua has been involved in teaching and leading many year programs in Israel as well as teaching in high schools across Israel and in Yeshivat Har Etzion.

Together with Rav Ryan Levin, he founded Mizrachi’s Shalhevet leadership program aiming to send Jewish educators all over the world.

He married Michal Fisher earlier this year, and together they are certain to make a big impact in Sydney.

Chairman of Bondi Mizrachi Synagogue, Michael Goldberg said, “We are ecstatic to be bringing to Sydney a young and dynamic couple who will change the face of Modern Orthodoxy and Religious Zionism in Sydney.

“Rav Shua’s energy and Torah knowledge coupled with his commitment to Am Yisrael and Eretz Yisrael will be a draw card for many people in the general Sydney community currently unaffiliated with a Shul or community.”

We wish the Solomons every success Down Under!
