At a special meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas let slip that he considers ALL of Israel to be ‘occupied’.
In his speech, the clip of which you can watch below, he says:
“Mr. President, ladies and gentlemen, haven’t you wondered: For how long will this protracted Israeli occupation of our land last? After 67 years (i.e., Israel’s creation), how long? Do you think it can last, and that it benefits the Palestinian people?”
Abbas clearly implies that the occupation has been in place since 1948 – since the State of Israel was declared, NOT since the Six Day War.
Was it a mistake? Was it deliberate? It certainly seems to be deliberate – check it out for yourself:
